What Is the Old Valyria Quest?
Old Valyria Quest is part of the A World of Ice and Fire mod for Mount And Blade Warband. You will receive the quest from Ser Janis Lyren at the Crossroads Inn close to Saltpan. Walk up to Ser Janis Lyren and start a conversation. This will lead into him telling you about his old Castle in Essos that is now in ruins. After accepting the mission you will set out to repair the Castle ruin. In order to do so, you must have at least 50 men, a set of tools, and 10k stags. If you are missing any of these items you will not be able to repair the castle. You will not find the castle on the mainland so you will also need a boat. The ruins are on an island to the south-east off the coast near Volantis. Be warned in order to get to the castle you must deal with quite a few pirates. Once you repair the ruins the Castle of Qarthigar will now be yours or your faction. If you complete the quest as a vassal the land goes to them instead of you. On the other and if completed while being neutral the castle will be yours and you will have started your own kingdom. As an added bonus Ser Janis Lyren will join your party as well. Sadly he will only be a normal troop instead of a companion.

The easiest way to find Old Valyria is in your character notes. Click on your newly acquired castle and then select 'show on map'.
